Students should only re-take Practice Sets if there is a technical issue (see below) or they are studying for a quiz or exam. If the student did not do well on a Practice Set, instead of taking the Practice Set again, they should follow the steps under “Corrections” on the Instruction Sheet for Practice Sets (which should have been printed before starting the course) to relearn and correct missed problems. This is a much more efficient process that builds long-term retention and fluency (speed and accuracy). The Practice Sets are a small percentage of the overall grade.
IMPORTANT: After completing the Practice Set, the answers for each question are displayed along with a link to the PDF Solutions and the Video Solutions. This means your student has seen all the correct answers before re-taking the Practice Set.
Technical Issues
- Restart your computer or device, then re-take the Practice Set or Quiz.
- Complete the Grade Change Form to submit the new grade.
- If the student stopped in the middle of the assignment and selected Save without Submitting, open the assignment, select Submit All and Finish, then follow the steps above to retake the assignment.
- For technical support, see the setup instructions for your computer or device here: eLearning Tech Solutions before attempting to re-take the assignment.
Keep in mind, the Practice Sets are like baseball or piano practice. We expect students to make mistakes while learning new concepts, That's why the Practice Set grades are a small percentage of the overall grade. Most of the grade comes from the exams. Following the steps on the Instruction Sheet for Practice Sets, all the way through watching the video solutions and re-working missed problems, students will do very well on the exams.
