Yes, you can but Dr. Shormann recommends completing all assignments as instructed. While it is intentionally very easy in the beginning to allow students to learn how to use the eLearning course, Shormann Pre-Algebra is a Pre-AP, Honors level course that will become increasingly more complex. Please read this entire article, then if you still want to skip, see: How to skip lessons in Shormann Math
Shormann Math does not have all the redundant review found in Saxon Math. The "real" pre-algebra concepts that are foundational to the remainder of the course start from the very beginning. Skipping lessons will cause gaps in essential skills. Also, it is not enough to "know how" to do the problems, fluency (speed and accuracy) is required to build on these concepts in future lessons. Developing fluency requires continual, cumulative practice over a long-period of time. This will make learning Algebra 1 much easier.
Use the Timed Method to Increase the Pace
Students should work on math for about an hour each day. If a lesson is easy, and they completed before the hour is up, they should move on to the next lesson. That will move the student forward faster and get them to the "actual pre-algebra math" more quickly. We do not believe "skipping" is an option because later on, gaps may show up.
Is there a Course Scope and Sequence?
