The eLearning format is the recommended format over the offline format. Why? Because it includes 21st Century tools that accelerate learning by developing fluency which makes learning math faster and easier! Here are a few of the tools:
- Help Links to Quickly Relearn Missed Concepts builds fluency and makes learning math faster and easier! There are Help links above every question with a short video clip of Dr. Shormann teaching a similar example problem. 99% of the time, the student relearns the concept and can now solve the problem correctly. With a traditional offline curriculum, the student has to dig through a textbook or notes, wasting valuable time that should be spent solving math problems.
- Auto-grading with Instant Feedback: Students solve each problem on paper then enter their answer and get immediate feedback. If it's wrong, they use the Help Links, check their work, then try again. If they get it right, they earn partial credit. Instead of waiting until all problems are solved to try to re-learn and correct, instant feedback allows the student to relearn right then while they are still engaged which saves time and mental energy.
- Video Solutions: In the eLearning course, the video solutions can only be seen after the assignment has been submitted and the grade is recorded. They are used to quickly relearn and correct missed problems.
