✅ 1. Update your Operating System
- Mac: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201541
- Windows: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/update-windows
- iPad / iPhone (iOS): https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204204
- Android: https://support.google.com/android/answer/7680439
✅ 2. Update Firefox
To avoid display and grading issues, you must use Firefox
Open Firefox, go to Menu (☰) → Settings → General → Firefox Updates and install any available updates.
If you don't have it, download it here: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/
If using a mobile device, download it from your App Store.
✅ 3. Make sure you have a stable internet connection
Please see: Minimum required internet speed or bandwidth
✅ 4. Do Not Disable JavaScript
Firefox has JavaScript enabled by default. Please, DO NOT DISABLE IT! JavaScript is required for quizzes, videos, and course features to work properly.
✅ 5. Allow Cookies
In Firefox, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data and make sure cookies are enabled.
🛡️ 6: Content Filters or Parental Controls
If your device or network uses Parental Controls or content filtering software like Bark, Qustodio, Covenant Eyes, Circle, or school filters, there are several sites that must be whitelisted. See: Safe Sites for New Moodle Site
If you're unsure, type deviceinfo.me into your browser → select Content Filtering from the menu.
✅ 7. Login on one device and one browser at a time
If you are logged in on one device or browser (Firefox), then log in on a different device or open a different browser at the same time, it may end your original session.
✅ 8. Use a recommended device
Use a computer or tablet. Phones can be used but are not recommended.
✅ 9. Try an Incognito Window
Open Firefox
Click the menu (☰)
Select New Private Window
Log in and try the assignment again
*If you have parental controls or content filtering software that prohibit using incognito window, please temporarily turn it off and supervise your student. If it works, read the info below.
👉 If the course works in Incognito mode, this means the issue is caused by:
- Internet Filtering Software or Parental Controls that are not setup properly. Click here: Instructions for Filtering and Controls
- Old cookies: Follow the steps below to clear the old stale cookies.
- Then try the course again.
✅ 10. Clear Cached Data for JUST Our Site
- Open Firefox and visit https://dive.unhosting.site
- In the address bar, click the sliders (tune) icon — it looks like three horizontal lines with small circles on them — to the left of the website address.
- Click Clear data
- Restart Firefox and try again.
✅ Step 11. Logout of All Other Devices & Browsers
- To prevent errors that can cause lost work or failed quiz submissions, each user can only be used on one device/browser at a time.
- ✅ If a user logs in to their account on a computer or device, they can open multiple tabs or windows in the same browser and stay logged in.
- If a user logs in to their account on one computer, then logs in to the same account using a different computer or device, it will log the user out of the first one.
⚠️ But if someone logs in to the same account from a different device, different browser, or Incognito/Private window, Moodle treats this as a new login session.
When that happens, Moodle will log out the earlier session and show the message: “Your session has expired. Please log in again.”
