Assignment Dates & Activity Tracking
The date and time shown in Moodle are accurate, but they reflect only a specific action (e.g., opening an assignment or submitting a quiz), not overall activity.
- A timestamp like “started April 6, 2026, 1:19 AM” means the first time the activity was opened
- It does not show:
- total time spent
- how often the student logged in
- whether they returned to the activity
This means it is not necessarily the last time the student accessed the course, only the last recorded action for that item.
Visibility Into Student Activity
Moodle provides limited activity tracking at the parent or teacher level.
You can see:
- assignment starts and submissions
- quiz completions
You cannot see:
- full login history
- total time spent in the course
- detailed daily activity
- whether videos were fully watched
Full activity logs are only available to administrators.
