If your student has not had a formal geometry course, one full credit of geometry* can be earned by taking Shormann Algebra 2 with Integrated Geometry. Better than a stand-alone geometry course, Shormann Algebra 2 also develops and maintains fluency in algebraic skills which makes it easier to learn geometry and improves scores on college entrance exams that test both algebra and geometry skills. However, you must take the Algebra 2 Placement Test to ensure readiness.
Shormann Algebra 2 has over 100 PSAT, SAT, ACT, and CLEP practice problems. A CLEP prep course is included that specifically prepares students for the CLEP College Algebra exam which can earn up to 3 college credits.
Can my student complete only the Geometry lessons in Shormann Algebra 2?
There is no way to complete only the geometry lessons because they are integrated with the Algebra 2 concepts. However, reviewing the Algebra 2 concepts will develop fluency in these skills which are required to learn the geometry concepts, and raises scores on standardized tests like the PSAT, SAT, and ACT which test both Algebra and Geometry concepts.
How is a full credit of Geometry earned in Shormann Algebra 2?
The first 25 lessons of Shormann Algebra 2 review the geometry concepts taught in Shormann Algebra 1 (1/2 credit of geometry). The remaining lessons in Shormann Algebra 2 teach all the concepts required to earn the second 1/2 credit of geometry. Therefore, students who have taken Algebra 2 (without geometry) can list Shormann Algebra 2 as a Geometry credit on their high school transcript. Learn More: How to Make Transcripts
