Dr. Shormann does not generally recommend skipping Saxon 7/6. However, if the student is in 7th grade or higher or is a gifted math student, you can give the student the Middle School Placement Test.
If the student passes, you will know he is ready for Saxon 87 or Shormann Prealgebra.
If the student doesn’t pass the placement test, take Saxon 7/6, but use the “Skip Review Lessons” in the DIVE Teacher Guide then, complete this course normally.
