Once they understand and follow the steps for completing assignments, you can stop supervising and to monitor their work like this:
-
Each week, after they study for the quiz, but before they take it, have the student bring you their handwritten notes for this week’s Lectures & Practice Sets.
-
Briefly check their lecture notes to ensure they solved the example problems on paper. Also, make sure they did not take too many notes as this decreases the time they have for solving problems. For details, see: Instructions for Lecture Notes.
-
Briefly compare their practice set notes to the Solutions Manual to ensure they solved problems on paper before entering their answer and that they are not guessing.
-
Briefly compare their corrections to the Results page and the Solutions Manual to ensure they watched the video solution for each question marked incorrect or earned .50 points or less and solved them correctly on paper or contacted Dr. Shormann about them.
-
Briefly check their quiz study notes to ensure they followed the “Study Instructions”.
-
If they have not watched the video solutions and solved all incorrect questions on paper, have them do that now, before taking the quiz.
-
Have them take the Quiz (10- 20 minutes).
- After the Quiz:
- Briefly check their corrections to ensure they solved missed problems on paper as instructed under “Corrections” on the “Instructions for Quizzes”.
- For any problems they can’t correct or don’t understand, have them see: Ask Dr. Shormann.
