How to Setup Computer for eLearning Courses

Before You Start – To-Do List

Complete the following before beginning your course:

1. Update your Operating System

2. To avoid display and grading issues, you must use Mozilla Firefox

Update Firefox: Open Firefox, go to Menu (☰) → Settings → General → Firefox Updates and install any available updates.

3. JavaScript

Firefox has JavaScript enabled by default. DO NOT DISABLE IT! JavaScript is required for quizzes, videos, and course features to work properly..

      4. Allow cookies for Moodle

In Firefox, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data and make sure cookies are enabled.
 

     5. Allow required Moodle sites in parental controls or content filters

There are several sites that must be whitelisted. See: Safe Sites for New Moodle Site
 

    6. Make sure you have a stable internet connection

Please see: Minimum required internet speed or bandwidth
 

    7. Login on one device and one browser at a time

If you are logged in on one device or browser (Firefox), then log in on a different device or open a different browser at the same time, it will end your original session.
 

    8. Use a recommended device

Use a computer or tablet. Phones are not recommended.
