Regardless of what math courses the student has completed, if they are in 7th Grade and have memorized multiplication facts to 9* (3 seconds or less, no fingers, tricks, or songs), Dr. Shormann’s general recommendation is to take Shormann Pre-Algebra No Placement Test needed.
The first 25 lessons include review of all the concepts these students need to take this course. However, it is critical that you allow the student extra time as needed by using The Timed Method: Frustration Free Math

Option 1: Saxon 7/6 + DIVE Video Lessons (6th Grade)
Go down one grade level and use the Timed Method. This allows reluctant math students to build fluency and learn at their own pace, which makes learning math faster and easier. No placement test needed.
